The solar power systems installed in the hospitals have a combined total capacity of 54 KW, comprising a 24KW solar panel and a 28kwh energy storage system in one hospital and a 30KW solar panel and a 43kwh energy storage system in the other hospital. The solar panels are installed on the rooftops of the hospitals and can generate electricity from sunlight, while the energy storage systems store the excess solar energy generated during the day to be used at night.

The decision to install solar power systems also has several economic benefits. While the initial cost of the installation may be high, the long-term implications are significant. Solar energy is free, and since the hospitals generate their electricity, they no longer have to depend on external sources like power companies. This translates to cost savings in the long run, allowing the hospitals to divert resources to other aspects of their operations.

The UN Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine recently released a study exploring the feasibility of implementing 37 solar energy projects across national hospitals and water supply facilities in Ukraine. The study highlights the importance of renewable energy in improving Ukraine's infrastructure and creating sustainable development.
